4 More Weeks Until Competition Time!

I attended the posing class on Saturday.  I saw a few gals that I will be competing.  Some of them looked great so I realized I have to step it up a bit.  I now have added more cardio to my workout.  On Saturday I was on the elyptical machine for 45 minutes.  Then did some rowing and more elyptical workout on Sunday.

I now have to go down to about 75grams of carbs each day and up my water intake.  Being hungry all the time is not fun.  No more salad dressing, I have cut back on rice cakes, and will increase my protein intake. My target is to lose a pound each week to weigh in for the show around 85 or 86lbs.  Yes, I am a very petite gal.  I have to look tight in order to get placed in the top 5.  That’s my goal this time around.

I just ordered my posing suit.  The material is crushed glass red with rhinestones on the top and bottom of the suit.  I’m having it custom fit to my body.  I should have the suit done in a week.

As it gets closer to the competition date, it is getting harder.  I have to cut a bit more out of my diet and more lifting.  So far I look pretty symmetrical, but need to work a bit more on my arms.  My abs are showing, which is great since I had a 42lb baby 5 years ago.  I didn’t think my stomach will flatten out, but it did.  Diet is the key if you want a washboard ab.

Everyone is off to Vegas, except for me:(

My whole staff is going to Vegas and I am stuck here working.  How did that happen?  This is the perfect time to head to Vegas where the weather is probably warmer there than in Sacramento.

We did see the sun over the weekend, but it was pretty windy.  I spent 2.5 hrs. on Saturday helping my friend pick strawberries.  We picked about 11 boxes full of strawberries.  I managed to get a tan while out on the farm.

Carbing Up With Tomato and Alfredo Sauce

As of now, I am about 8.5 weeks away from my fitness competition.  My trainer suggested I carb load to see how I would fill out the next day.  So I decided to eat some spaghetti last night.

Dieting is the hardest part of the training as you are always so hungry.  As soon as I decided to eat spaghetti, my stomach went over time with hunger pains.  That being said, I went a bit over board. I ate like I had never eaten before.  Basically, I gorged on spaghetti.  Keep in mind it’s been over 5 months since I have eaten like that.

The fat in the sauce and the amount of carbs I had worried me a bit so I jumped on the bike for 30 min. last night.  This morning I woke up feeling thinner and tighter.  Go figure.  It is the weirdest thing.  I thought I would fill out today.

It would be great to lose weight on carbs.  So today I decided to cut back on my carb intake.  At least I have the energy today for my quad and calf workout.  So far I am looking more muscular and tighter than I looked when I competed 8 years ago.  What a huge difference when you have someone helping you train.  Next post I will post a picture of my 52 year old trainer.  You will be amazed how great he looks for his age.

Our Team Building Trip

We had a great time on Friday at Six Flags Marine World.  My team has been working hard on Save R Boobies so we decided to take a break and go have fun at the theme park.  Attendees: Gina, Rickey, John, Alana, Dante, and Dmitry.  We got there around noon and jumped on the Kong ride.  Had lunch and them headed over to the animal kingdom to see the lions, tigers, giraffes, and the sea creatures.  The weather was in the high 70’s.  I was able to get a bit of tan that day.  We all had a great time.

Design Contest with Art Institute of California – Sacramento

I am excited to announce are partnership with the Art Institute of California – Sacramento.  We presented an opportunity for the students to design creative shirts for Save R Boobies.  The students have two weeks to submit their design for a woman and/or a man’s shirt design.  Once all the designs are entered, we will be choosing the top five designs for a woman and a man’s shirt.

We will post the ten designs on our site and then have our visitors vote on their favorite designs.  We will have one winner for the woman and one for the man’s design.  The two winners will be highlighted on our site, mentioned in our press release, and featured in our upcoming fashion show.

The students seem to be very excited about participating.  I can’t wait to see what they all come up with.  The Art Institute has been so gracious in working with us.  We plan to partner on future projects.

My Workout Regiment

Workout regiment

Someone had sent me a request for me to post my weekly workout out regiment so I’m going to post it here. Right now I hit the gym four times a week. On my off days I do light cardio. I have lost a lot of weight so I have to be careful not to do too much cardio because the muscle I have gained will slowly be burn away.

If you do not have any fat to burn, then your muscles starts burning away. That is why you would need low impact cardio to keep your muscle size.

Monday: Chest and Triceps – incline press, incline pec fly, pec fly machine, pull down triceps, bench presses
Wednesday: Quads and Calves – squats, leg extensions, leg press machine, and seated calf raises
Friday: Shoulders/abs – shoulder press, lateral raises, bent over raises, front raises, abs
Saturday: Back and Biceps – wide pull ups, lateral pull downs, close grip pull down, seated rows, seated alternate hammer curls, straight bar curls, and seated hammer curl machine
