Sacramento, CA, June 23, 2010 – Over 2,000 votes were casted for the public’s favorite shirt design to help raise funds for breast cancer charities. Save R Boobies, a breast cancer awareness organization, visited Art Institute of California – Sacramento on June 16, 2010 to award Joyce Tabujara as the Student Design Contest winner. Her design will help expand the Save R Boobies apparel line and be sold on its online breast cancer store. Portions of apparel sales are donated to charities that provide direct services to women battling breast cancer.
Tabujara, a second year graphic design student at Art Institute of California – Sacramento, shared her inspiration was “learning personal stories of breast cancer survivors, like Gina Andrews.” She further explained, “My design promotes the awareness that women should have about breast cancer, especially the early signs and symptoms, in hopes of it being prevented. I also emphasized the word ‘war’ because the women who are diagnosed continue to fight their ‘war’ and struggle through the treatment process.”
The grand prize package included several gift certificates to local art and retail vendors, restaurants, and cafés, worth about $200. Tabujara will also receive a shirt with her design and be featured in Save R Boobies’ annual “Catwalk for the Cure” fashion show in late October.
“We received some great designs from the students at A.I. Some students were very creative in getting their friends and family members to vote for their design,” stated Gina Andrews, founder of Save R Boobies. Tabujara created a funny YouTube video, encouraging others to vote for hers. Accordingly, she won the contest by a little over 50 votes. Some of the thousands of votes were from countries beyond the United States, such as Canada and Germany.
New shirts with Tabujara’s design will be available on the online breast cancer store summer 2010. For additional information about the Student Design Contest, please contact Alana Paular or visit www.SaveRBoobies.com.

Breast Cancer Survivor Tackles the Missing Link:
Inspiring Event Offers Women Real Life Advice to Thrive After Medical Treatments Ends
Breast Cancer Awareness isn’t enough. One woman’s mission to turn survivors into thrivers: Rochelle Togo-Figa is leading a movement to tackle the post-medical world of
breast cancer, one inspiring story at a time.
Breast Cancer Thriver: Rochelle Togo-Figa is leading a movement for post-treatment survivors to redesign their life and thrive.
Togo-Figa is offering a week of free advice through “From Surviving to Thriving” a free telephone event she hopes all survivors will tune in to hear tips and techniques from real women who turned their life around after surviving breast cancer.
Sixteen years after her own breast cancer diagnosis, a new husband, a successful company and living the life of her dreams, Togo-Figa is ready to give back to other women. Her new program, Your Life After Breast Cancer, trains women how to thrive with the tools, techniques and tips perfected in the training world and applied to personal struggles in a way to design an exceptional life post breast cancer.
She explains why this first event is so important in the pink ribbon saturated breast cancer movement: “A breast cancer diagnosis changes your life,” said Togo-Figa, “statistically, 98 percent of women diagnosed with cancer confined to the breast are alive five years later. But the ‘Missing Link’ in the health care system is the lack of post treatment support. After a patient ends treatment and returns to her normal life there is very little encouragement to make personal life changes to truly go after your dreams and thrive in work and life.”

Sacramento, Calif., March 19 – Gina Andrews is the epitome of strength, dedicating herself to being an advocate for young women with breast cancer since her own journey with the disease just five years ago. Andrews was diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 31, six days after the birth of her first child. But Andrews says her diagnosis happened for a reason, and her journey has helped her recognize her calling. She is reaching out to women and providing all the information they need to know about diagnosis, treatment and life after breast cancer, through her new site SaveRBoobies.com.
“I want to empower women through knowledge,” said Andrews, whose breast cancer awareness website launched this week.
Breast cancer can be a lonely journey, Andrews said, but I want to make sure no woman ever has to go through it alone, like I did.
SaveRBoobies.com is an interactive site that encourages people to not only use the website as a place to gather information, but also as a fun, safe haven where they can discuss, win prizes, share stories, watch videos and even shop.
Save R Boobies donates portions of all their revenue to selected quarterly charities that readers can vote on themselves.
“Readers choose who we support in terms of charities so they have a say in where their money is going,” Andrews said, “We want people to be a part of the experience, not just a spectator.”
SaveRBoobies.com features monthly giveaways where readers can win anything from clothes and jewelry to books and gift baskets. Currently, Save R Boobies is giving away four T-shirts, all custom-designed by the Save R Boobies staff.
Save R Boobies focuses on fitness and how to stay in shape, or get back into shape, during and after treatment. The site helps women maintain a normal, healthy life and keep a positive attitude all while being part of an online support group that strives to make every woman’s journey as easy as possible through knowledge and support.
