Six Flags – June 9, 2010

Team building can be so fun! We all went on another outing to Six Flags last Wednesday, June 9th, and can’t wait to go back. Here are some pictures from that day…

Johnnie, Dustin, Rickey, Alana, Dmitry, and I!

Medusa!!

Rickey, Johnnie, and the sloth! Surprisingly, it was climbing around the tree pretty quickly!

Johnnie and Rickey bored… waiting for Dustin to get out of the gift shop.

Dmitry, me, and Alana, wishing Dustin would hurry up in the gift shop, so we could go on more rides!

FINALLY, Dustin came running out, after getting a gift for the gf.

Mr. Walrus swam back and forth for us all… huge!

Dmitry, Johnnie, Alana, and I riding the relaxing swings,  on which Dmitry kept pushing me!

Rickey and Dustin randomly showed up and hopped on the swings with us, after watching some animal shows :)

5 More Weeks to Competition

I  now have 5 more weeks of training.  I attended the natural bodybuilding show in Folsom, CA on Saturday.  It was very inspiring to see so many competitors on stage.  They all looked great.  There was a lady who looked like she was in her 60’s competing in the woman’s figure competition.  I think that was great to see someone at her age working out and competing.  If she can do it, anyone can.

I am now down to 90lbs right now.  My trainer thinks I’ll get down to around 86lbs by my competition date.  Keep in mind that is the weight once I get rid of all the excess water.  I just picked out my posing suit.  I have decided to go with hot red!  I think it’ll look good against my dark skin tone.

Diet part continues to be difficult.  I’m eating cream of wheat in the morning, snacking on rice cakes and fruit for mid-morning, chicken+veggies+brown rice for lunch, chicken salad and protein shake for mid-afternoon, chicken salad for dinner, then 4 egg whites at night if I am starving.

Vote For For Survivor Sister – Tracie Metzger

My good friend Tracie Metzger was chosen to be one of the top three women in her hometown for the People All Stars contest. The winner will receive a trip to Anaheim to be honored. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 30 and today she has dedicated her life to help other survivors through her non-profit organization, Pink Ribbon Girls.

Please vote for her at: http://www.mlb.com/peopleallstarsamongus/. Click on Cincinnati Reds and you will see her name and picture. Help support her cause. Pink Ribbon Girls provide meals, housecleaning, and other services to women while battling with breast cancer. This is an important service to women. You can visit her organization and donate to her cause at www.pinkribbongirls.org.

Thank you for your support!

Everyone is off to Vegas, except for me:(

My whole staff is going to Vegas and I am stuck here working.  How did that happen?  This is the perfect time to head to Vegas where the weather is probably warmer there than in Sacramento.

We did see the sun over the weekend, but it was pretty windy.  I spent 2.5 hrs. on Saturday helping my friend pick strawberries.  We picked about 11 boxes full of strawberries.  I managed to get a tan while out on the farm.

Carbing Up With Tomato and Alfredo Sauce

As of now, I am about 8.5 weeks away from my fitness competition.  My trainer suggested I carb load to see how I would fill out the next day.  So I decided to eat some spaghetti last night.

Dieting is the hardest part of the training as you are always so hungry.  As soon as I decided to eat spaghetti, my stomach went over time with hunger pains.  That being said, I went a bit over board. I ate like I had never eaten before.  Basically, I gorged on spaghetti.  Keep in mind it’s been over 5 months since I have eaten like that.

The fat in the sauce and the amount of carbs I had worried me a bit so I jumped on the bike for 30 min. last night.  This morning I woke up feeling thinner and tighter.  Go figure.  It is the weirdest thing.  I thought I would fill out today.

It would be great to lose weight on carbs.  So today I decided to cut back on my carb intake.  At least I have the energy today for my quad and calf workout.  So far I am looking more muscular and tighter than I looked when I competed 8 years ago.  What a huge difference when you have someone helping you train.  Next post I will post a picture of my 52 year old trainer.  You will be amazed how great he looks for his age.

Our Team Building Trip

We had a great time on Friday at Six Flags Marine World.  My team has been working hard on Save R Boobies so we decided to take a break and go have fun at the theme park.  Attendees: Gina, Rickey, John, Alana, Dante, and Dmitry.  We got there around noon and jumped on the Kong ride.  Had lunch and them headed over to the animal kingdom to see the lions, tigers, giraffes, and the sea creatures.  The weather was in the high 70’s.  I was able to get a bit of tan that day.  We all had a great time.

Design Contest with Art Institute of California – Sacramento

I am excited to announce are partnership with the Art Institute of California – Sacramento.  We presented an opportunity for the students to design creative shirts for Save R Boobies.  The students have two weeks to submit their design for a woman and/or a man’s shirt design.  Once all the designs are entered, we will be choosing the top five designs for a woman and a man’s shirt.

We will post the ten designs on our site and then have our visitors vote on their favorite designs.  We will have one winner for the woman and one for the man’s design.  The two winners will be highlighted on our site, mentioned in our press release, and featured in our upcoming fashion show.

The students seem to be very excited about participating.  I can’t wait to see what they all come up with.  The Art Institute has been so gracious in working with us.  We plan to partner on future projects.

My Workout Regiment

Workout regiment

Someone had sent me a request for me to post my weekly workout out regiment so I’m going to post it here. Right now I hit the gym four times a week. On my off days I do light cardio. I have lost a lot of weight so I have to be careful not to do too much cardio because the muscle I have gained will slowly be burn away.

If you do not have any fat to burn, then your muscles starts burning away. That is why you would need low impact cardio to keep your muscle size.

Monday: Chest and Triceps – incline press, incline pec fly, pec fly machine, pull down triceps, bench presses
Wednesday: Quads and Calves – squats, leg extensions, leg press machine, and seated calf raises
Friday: Shoulders/abs – shoulder press, lateral raises, bent over raises, front raises, abs
Saturday: Back and Biceps – wide pull ups, lateral pull downs, close grip pull down, seated rows, seated alternate hammer curls, straight bar curls, and seated hammer curl machine
